Wow, the time has flown by! I can’t believe it’s already almost June and the temperatures have hit the 80’s already! The last few months have flown by with the kids activities and my training for two 1/2 marathons. Next weekend is my second 1/2 and after that I’m going to be focusing on some 5Ks for awhile! I plan to update soon on my experiences with the 1/2 marathons. But for now, I want to review this wonderful book I’ve been reading.
A Beauty so Rare by Tamara Alexander
Disclaimer: I’ve not finished reading this book, but it is fantastic!
A beauty so Rare tells the story of Eleanor a woman described as tall and plain. She has a very sick father who she must admit to an asylum. She is an older woman for her time, at 30, and unmarried. She is in search of a way to make her own. It also tells the story of Marcus, a botanist working at her aunt’s mansion. He has secrets of his own.
This story pulled me in immediately as I was able to connect with the characters. The author does a wonderful job and presenting realistic characters who are easy to connect with.
I’m truly enjoying this novel and would recommend it to anyone who likes historical novels.
